Alesia Hortman

Paralegal

My name is Alesia Hortman. I was born and raised in Middle Georgia, and now reside in Byron, Georgia.

I have been married for 30 years to the Love of my life, Bo.

I am the mother of two sons, Jordy and Brody, and two daughters, Chelsea and Tori. I have four grandsons, Christian, Ian, Clayton & Sampson.

We enjoy traveling to the mountains and the beach.

I am retired from Brown & Williamson.

I started my career in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice with Macon-Bibb Government. I first started with the Macon Police Department and consolidated with the Bibb Sheriff’s Office. I then went to the District Attorney’s Office as a Macon-Bibb County employee, retiring in 2019, and became a State of Georgia employee with the District Attorney’s Office, retiring in 2025. I held numerous positions and wore many different hats in my capacity with Macon-Bibb County and the State of Georgia.

I am forever grateful and blessed to have worked with some of the best people in Macon-Bibb in law enforcement and with the District Attorney’s Office. I have a great deal of experience and knowledge on both sides of the criminal justice system. I have a passion for helping others, and I always try to understand their circumstances without judgment. I learned in my first year of law enforcement from a chief I highly respect, Chief Henderson Carswell, that I should “treat everyone you meet in this line of work like they are a part of your family.” I strive to live by this every day. This world needs more kindness and people who are dedicated to the cause. I look forward to being part of the Middle Georgia Justice program and working with the great people who are part of this wonderful organization.
